When you're no longer at the end of the line | Bangkok Post: opinion


The extension of the skytrain line from Bearing to Samrong has a number of implications for commuters, none of them good unless you happen to live in Samrong. Commuters at Bearing will be discovering that life is not so much fun when you are no longer the end of the increasingly overcrowded line. And it will get a whole lot worse by the end of the year when the line stretches to a further eight stations. Back in 1967, I shared a flat with a friend in Edgware, a north London suburb and the terminus of the underground's Northern Line. And there he stayed until he was booted out by the cleaners at dawn and trudged home pondering the joys of being at the end of the line.
